Van Horn High School Juniors/Seniors

What?

The ACT is a college entrance exam that every student should take if they are interested in attending  4 year college. It is scored 1-36.

This test is a four hour paper/pencil exam that consists of English, reading, math, and science.

When?

Where?

We do not test at Van Horn High School, however our students can register and test at one of the other high schools in our district:

When you register for the ACT, make sure you use the school codes of one of these high schools for the "testing site" during registration.

Some general ACT tips!
  • Pacing is very, very important!
  • NEVER leave anything blank.
  • If you have to guess, choose the same letter all the way down! (B,G,B,G)
  • The first 30 math questions are the easiest, focus on those before moving to the last 30.
  • The English test is the easiest test to improve
  • You do not need to get all of the questions right to get a 36 on the test :)
