I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. When my cousins and I were young, we’d play school and I always wanted to be the teacher. One of the teachers that was the most inspirational to me was my 7^th grade Language Arts teacher in Puerto Rico. We did cool projects in her class and I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. She was a fun and caring teacher and I have never forgotten her.

I graduated from Park University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and I am certified to teach Elementary and Special Education. I began working on my Master’s degree in Special Education at NWMSU. I have substituted, taught, and worked as a para- throughout my 10 years in the field of education and have walked away a better teacher because of each experience. I am excited to be working at Independence Academy and love the staff and students that I get to work with on a daily basis!
