Jazz and Pep Bands
This ensemble is completely Volunteer. It meets just before home games for a brief rehearsal before playing inbetween ladies and boys games. This ensemble has been known to be "caught in the act" of having fun and playing music residing on the rock and pop genre. All students currently enrolled in band class are eligible and encouraged to come participate. It is a great place to play different music, build reading skills, and just enjoy a different experience of performance. Come on out!
Truman Pep Band
This ensemble is selected by the director and meets every Tuesday and Thursday before school starting at 6:30 am.
Students in this program will get the experience of performing jazz style music in a big band setting.
While this group will occasionally compete at high school jazz festivals, its primary purpose is to be an entertaining ensemble. The Truman Jazz Band has often been requested to play at formal events for the school district and abroad.
