ISD High Schools: 2019-2020 Program of Studies
Introduction
The Program of Studies provides secondary students with information about available courses and graduation requirements. Its purpose is to assist students in planning their four-year high school program. Students are encouraged to discuss their schedules with parents, counselors, and teachers in order to make appropriate plans for graduation, college, and/or occupational choices.
To effectively plan, students should:

- Create four-year plans
Course Catalog
Approved courses for the 2019-2020 school year can be found under three areas in the main menu:
- The Academies of ISD - These are courses designated within career/college-based academies with pathways leading to an Industry-Recognized Certificate (IRC) or dual credit/Advanced Placement options.
- Core Subject Areas - Courses in this section come from the four core subject areas: English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
- Global Courses - Courses in this section come from several departments: Drama, Communications, Family and Consumer Science, Foreign Language, Music, Physical Education & Health, and Visual Arts.
