Q: When will students choose an Academy?

A: Students will choose an Academy at the end of their freshman year, after taking part in the Freshman Academy designed to help them choose a course for their future.

Q: What happens if students change their mind once involved in an Academy?

A: Students will be able to switch Academies if they find that they are not suited to their Academy of choice.

Q: Can a student take a class that is not a part of the chosen Academy?

A: Yes, students will be able to take single courses and electives outside of their Academy.

Q: Will students still take core classes in English, Science, Social Studies and Math?

A: Yes, but those classes may look different in each Academy. For instance, students in a broadcast journalism class will learn a different type of writing than a student with a software development focus.
